Guitarfella

This piece of work by Alvarez is undoubtedly the best selection for a rock star in the making, and despite its obvious target audience, it can shine through the hands of an experienced maestro quite easily. If you’re looking for a guitar in this range and type, the AD-30 is a must-have and one of my top recommendations.

Overall, I was highly impressed by the Alvarez AP70. It’s a well-designed guitar, made with top-quality materials, and just plain fun to play. It delivers considerable power with its sweet, clear voice and will be very comfortable to cozy up with on a porch swing or in a parlor.

Alvarez guitars are a solid build with an even more solid reputation. I love that these guitars aren't a dime a dozen so much as the larger brands of acoustics. I feel that people are drawn to a specific brand for a reason or a history, which is my case, especially with the Grateful Dead guitars that have been released this year.

ABT60

BaritoneGuitars

The Alvarez ABT60 is a well-built, nicely-appointed baritone acoustic guitar. Tone-wise, the ABT60 is a wonderful value for the price. Singer-songwriters should consider this guitar (especially those living on a singer-songwriter budget) as the guitar's quality of tone and baritone voicing will let open chords and drone tones shine in a way that makes simple phrasings sound unique and beautiful.

I found my current acoustic at a small guitar shop in St. Petersburg, FL and fell in love with it.

I’ve had my Alvarez for ten years now, and I haven't had any problems with it. It’s a quality guitar at an affordable price, and it always sounds great when I play it.

I have loved and played guitar for over 20 years. I have been teaching guitar for the last 10 years. I have owned and played many different brands, from Martin to Taylor to a custom Santa Cruz. I always come back to Alvarez. The sound and playability and price is the reason I always send my students to Alvarez.

I have been using Yairi guitars for 20 years. I have used Alvarez guitars as an inspiration for much of the songwriting I do. Your guitars represent quality and precision. The simple refined elegance and tone far surpasss other large scale manufacturers.

Somehow the RC20SC I have has a plugged in tone that has an enormous appeal when I play it. I can stop people in there tracks and they will buy a CD after only 30 seconds of listening. This is a documented fact. There's something about that guitar and the way I play it, no fancy preamps, just a little reverb. It's an inexpensive guitar and the other guitar I play for our folk project is a Taylor which is 10 times the cost, literally. I've tried my hardest to find a more expensive guitar that would feel and sound the same as my Alvarez but I have been unsuccessful. I've tried them all.

The Alvarez AG75CE has a strong voice and is evenly responsive and resonant. It rings out brightly and what strikes you is the clarity and evenness of the guitar’s attack both when fingerpicking and using a plectrum. The evenness of tone is a great asset for recording duties.

Back in 1978, I bought an Alvarez/Yari DY57. It was my very first real guitar. 25 years later I meet my current partner who is also a guitar player....I met her when she was playing a venue, and she starts to play the most beautiful sounding 12 sting I have ever heard played in my life... low and behold it's an Alvarez...

I have always been a huge fan of Alvarez guitars, I love the way the play, love the way they sound and love the way they feel.

I bought my first two Alvarez guitars last year, the ABT60 baritone, and the AJ80CE. Right away, I loved the natural tone, especially from the dark, rich baritone.

I love the fact that you can pay so little for Alvarez, and still get a great sounding guitar. Any other guitar that costs as little as your $400 baritone doesn't sound anywhere close to as crisp, and sonic. I can only imagine what it would sound like to get a Yairi model jumbo.

This is our second look at the Alvarez Artist Series guitars and we are extremely pleased to report that both build quality and sound quality are on a par with – if not a little better – than the other models we’ve seen in their range.

I was impressed with this guitar, and with the way that Alvarez continues to make quality instruments at all price points. The bottom line is that this is definitely one of the best acoustic/electric guitars available for a street price of under $500.

DYMR70SB

Guitar Aficianado

With its great looks, superior tone, and exquisite construction, the Alvarez-Yairi Masterworks DYMR70SB is one guitar you’ll be proud to bring home to mother. And since it retails for only $3,699—given the price of boutique instruments in its class, only is the appropriate word—you won’t have to pay an arm, leg, and thumb pick to own it.

I bought a used Alvarez FD60 when I was 17 and fell in love with it - I've never played another acoustic guitar in my price range that sounds so great... except for other Alvarez models. I have yet to find a better marriage of quality and price range in any acoustic guitar, and I've used my FD60 in every acoustic track I've recorded in the studio since, as well as every live show I've played as a solo artist.

They sound wonderful, ESPECIALLY for the price. There seems to be a stigma in the modern music industry about how 'legitimate' musicians only use incredibly overpriced gear and instruments, which can be very disheartening for kids aspiring to shoot for a music career.

Alvarez is just so beautiful inside and out…Wouldn't dream of buying anything else ever again!! You get an amazing guitar and do not go broke in the process.

- J. Covey

My uncle showed me Alvarez. Also, my buddies plays Alvarez. Now I play Alvarez and I just got a 1970s Alvarez Banjo that I absolutely love.

I love the quality, price, and feel. People always ask me about my guitar because of how it sounds or how it looks. I love the reliability of the guitars.

RD26CESB

Alvarez has made an entry-level instrument that can do more than be serviceable. The RD26CESB is a guitar that will draw the new player in, and give them a reason to keep picking it up every day.
